First US import of captive-bred Australian tarantulas (Selenocosmia crassipes, Selenocosmia sp. 'Eunice' and Selenocosmia sp. '2') by Michael Jacobi and Frank Somma. These second generation captive produced offspring were produced and exported by Steve Nunn.

Todd Gearheart bred and got the U.S.A.'s first captive-born Pamphobeteus vespertinus "Red Bloom" produced this year. The genus is challenging for breeders to get fertile sacs and successful spiderlings from and breeding this rare species makes this even more eventful.
