A hobby “classic”. This large-growing arboreal is khaki, olive green with nice orange markings on the legs and chevron pattern on its abdomen. Grows to 7 3/4” !

COLOR/PATTERN/APPEARANCE: Khaki overall with orange leg and chevron abdominal markings and olive leg hairs. Slender build. Mature males lose the orange markings and are more slender and muted in color.

TEMPERATURE: 78F-85F day, no lower than 60F at night
HUMIDITY: 80%
TANK SETUP: Adults can be housed in 10 gal. tanks with 4"-6" deep "Cocosoft" substrate or peat moss, shallow and wide water dish. Provide 45 degree angled pieces of cork bark and/or large tubular cork bark for a shelter.
FEEDING REQUIREMENTS: Babies/juvs twice a week small cricket (1-2). Sub-adults/adults once a week medium to large cricket (2-3), roaches (1-2) or pinkie mouse or rat pup. Also, try tree frogs and anolis lizards.
WATER REQUIREMENTS: Mist tank 1-2 times a week with fine water mist to keep humidity around 80%. Change water dish whenever fouled or at least 1-2 times a week.
DISPOSITION: Very aggressive. Do not free handle. They will go into threat display and bite if disturbed.
VENOM EFFECTS: Unknown. Assumed to be medically insignificant though like most tarantulas.
GROWTH RATE: Very fast. Males mature in 9 months. Females in 2 yrs.
LONGEVITY: 1.5 to 2 years for males. Females may live 8 to 10 yrs.
BREEDING REMARKS: Pretty straight-forward. If the timing is right and they are of breeding size, this species is easy to breed and get fertile sacs from.
