Overall color is a dusky black. For those that like your tarantulas to be BIG, this is a species for you to consider adding to your collection. This genus grows quick achieving 4"-6" legpsans in one year!
At the 2007 17th International Conference of Arachnology in Brazil, Rogerio Bertani (Instituto Butantan, São Paulo, Brazil) said L. fracta Mello-Leitão is considered “nomina dubia”, since the types could not be located and the descriptions are insuficient for allowing identification. German exporters are using the name L. fracta, so as of 2/07/08, we are not 100% sure of it's identification to species level.
