"Sun Tiger". A beautiful species! Jet black with lighting orange on the legs and chevron marked abdomen! Rainforest habitat. Arboreal. Fast and aggressive. Looks and does great in a live plant vivarium.

Periodic import from Malaysian shipments, it is supposedly collected from Burma. It is thought to range into Thailand and northern Malaysia as well. Identification is very difficult with this genus as to which species it might be. It is a large, burrowing species, very leggy, capable of 7"+ legspans and is overall dark brown to tanish-orange-fawnish in color without any leg striping or abdominal patterns. The tarsi and metatarsi, underneath are black. Typical import size is 4"-6". Mature males can be as big in legspan as females. Females can put on a lot of weight on their abdomens.

This incredible species first hit the U.S. hobby in 1998. It was and still is very impressive to a majority of the hobby due to it's color, pattern and size. It is a very "showy" species. Always active, eats frequently and everything, grows quickly and is one of the larger-growing species.
