Incredible beast! One of the largest Asian terrestrials especically one of the largest in its genus. Rarely imported. Typical import size on adults is 4.5" to 6.5"

RANGE: SE China
HABITAT: Rainforest
TYPE: Obligate burrower, but makes a lot of webbing similiar to C. cyaneopubescens in captivity.
COLOR/PATTERN/APPEARANCE: Uniform, fawn colored overall with no patterns. Slender legs, but large, stocky abdomen and carapace.
MAXIMUM SIZE: 7 3/4"
TEMPERATURE: 75F to 85F day with drops no lower than 60F at night
HUMIDITY: 80%
TANK SETUP: Adults can be housed vertical-orientated cups/cages around a 5 to 10 gallon capacity with 6"-8" deep of "Coco Husk", "Cocosoft" substrate or peat moss substrate.
FEEDING REQUIREMENTS: Babies/juvs twice a week small cricket (1-2). Sub-adults/adults once a week medium to large cricket (2-3), roaches (1-2) and they will eat rat pups and/or pinkie mice one or two a week.
WATER REQUIREMENTS: Mist tank 1-2 times a week with fine water mist to keep humidity around 80%. Change water dish whenever fouled or at least 1-2 times a week.
DISPOSITION: Very aggressive. Do not free handle. It will go into threat display and bite if disturbed. They bite readily when disturbed.
VENOM EFFECTS: Unknown. It is assumed that they are medically insignificant like most tarantulas, BUT little is known about their toxicity.
GROWTH RATE: Fast. Males mature in one to 1.5 yrs. Females in 2 to 2.5 yrs.
LONGEVITY: 12 to 18 yrs. in females and 2 to 4 yrs. in males.
BREEDING REMARKS: Not reported.
